Our mission
To close the artificial intelligence divide by equipping young people and community organizations with accessible AI education, practical tools, and the judgment to use them responsibly.
A future in which every student graduates understanding how AI works and how to question it, and every community nonprofit can use modern tools without putting the people it serves at risk. In that future, a person's zip code or income does not determine whether AI works for them or against them.
Cultivaite Futures was founded in Stamford, Connecticut, in December 2025 by people who saw the same pattern repeating: each new wave of technology reached wealthy schools and large organizations first, and arrived years later, if at all, in the communities that could benefit most. With artificial intelligence advancing faster than any technology before it, they were not willing to wait for that gap to close on its own.
Our name reflects that purpose. To cultivate is to tend something patiently so it can grow, and the “AI” at the center of Cultivaite is a reminder of the tool we use to do it. Our tagline, Planting knowledge. Cultivating change., describes how we work: we plant knowledge and tools in schools and community organizations, then support the people there until they can sustain and extend that work themselves.
As artificial intelligence transforms the economy, low-income and rural communities face a real risk of being shut out. Without early exposure, adequate hardware, and teaching materials designed for their circumstances, students in under-resourced schools are less prepared for a workforce that increasingly expects AI fluency. Community nonprofits are pressured to adopt AI without the staff, funding, or guidance to do it safely. And the people in these communities are often the ones most affected by automated decisions they had no part in shaping.
Theory of change
Technology only creates lasting change when the people using it can maintain it, question it, and adapt it to their own needs.
Free programs designed for refurbished hardware and low-bandwidth connections, delivered through schools and community organizations people already trust.
Hands-on learning that explains how AI systems work, what data they depend on, and where they fail.
Participants apply AI to real problems in their classrooms and organizations, with human judgment and clear safeguards.
Teachers and nonprofit teams keep the tools and knowledge after we leave, and share them with others.
When students understand AI, they make better choices about the tools they use and are more likely to pursue technical careers. When nonprofits adopt technology with clear safeguards, they spend less time on paperwork and more on the people they serve.
Principles
Where we are today
We are a small team in our first phase: AI education, funding community nonprofits, and building the technical infrastructure and support behind them.
Your support funds AI education for young people, technology grants for community nonprofits, and the workshop curriculum we are developing.
