Privacy Policy
Cultivaite Futures Inc (“Cultivaite Futures,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit cultivaitefutures.org (the “Site”), contact us, or make a donation, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have written it with the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA) in mind, and we extend the rights described below to every visitor regardless of where they live.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and inquiries: your name, email address, topic, and message when you use our contact form or email us.
- Mailing list: your email address if you ask to receive our updates.
- Donations: your name, contact details, and gift amount. Online payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card or bank account numbers.
- Program participation: contact details for schools and organizations that request our services.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of each request. These logs are used for security and to keep the Site running.
- Analytics and advertising measurement: we may use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand how visitors find and use the Site, for example whether someone who clicked one of our ads later sent us a message. These services use cookies and similar technologies and collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device type.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data, such as health, financial account, or precise geolocation information, through the Site.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To process donations, send tax receipts, and keep required financial records.
- To deliver our programs to the schools and organizations we serve.
- To send updates you have asked for. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand how the Site is used, measure the effectiveness of our outreach, and improve our content.
- To protect the security of the Site and comply with the law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent, trade, or share donor or contact lists with other organizations. We share information only with service providers that help us operate, such as our website host, email provider, payment processor, and analytics provider, and only as needed for them to perform those services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our organization, our participants, or others.
4. Cookies and how to opt out
The Site itself does not require cookies to work. If analytics or advertising measurement is enabled, you can limit it at any time:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Manage how Google uses ad data in My Ad Center.
- Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. We treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data.
5. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data and give you access to it.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Delete personal data you provided or that we hold about you.
- Provide a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Stop using your data for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling.
- Remove you from our mailing list.
To make a request, email info@cultivaitefutures.org with the subject “Privacy Request.” We will respond within 45 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may contact the Connecticut Attorney General at portal.ct.gov/ag.
6. Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required for tax and legal records. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections, to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults, including parents, educators, and partners. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Information about students in our school programs is handled through the participating school under its own policies. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites, such as our payment processor and social media pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
